Catch basin filter for stormwater
HexGuard — our stormwater catch basin filter — prevents hydrocarbons, debris, sediment, and other contaminants from entering the stormwater drainage system. It can also be used for treating firefighting runoff, for example after extinguishing a vehicle fire.
The filter is made of geotextile and can be installed in the catch basin in just a few minutes.
Dimensions: 120 cm long, 90 cm wide, and 45 cm high.

An energy company in western Sweden evaluated our HexGuard PRO catch basin filters to reduce oil runoff from parking and traffic areas.
Easy and quick installation
Step 1
Remove catch basin grating and clean dirt and debris from the grating ledge.
Step 2
Place the filter over the catch basin openings with the bag-side inside the basin.
Step 3
Replace the grating, wedging the filter between the grating and the catch basin frame.
Step 4
Cut the excess fabric off and leave a 3-inch-wide strip of the fabric above the grating.
HexGuard PRO – for enhanced treatment
For even better stormwater treatment performance, the catch basin filter can be supplemented with filter bags containing BioMedia® and/or oil absorbent, depending on the type of contamination being managed.
The specially engineered media in the BioMedia® filters effectively reduces heavy metals such as copper, lead, and zinc, as well as a range of organic compounds — from oil‑based contaminants to chlorinated pollutants. This means BioMedia® significantly reduces the presence of many common environmental toxins in the water.
The oil absorbent is made from recycled wood fibers and is designed to efficiently bind oil‑based liquids while repelling water. Unlike polypropylene‑based absorbents, it prevents leakage and drainage of hydrocarbons by encapsulating the oil within the cellulose fibers.
