FlocBox – Our efficient plug‑and‑play water treatment solution

Our patented FlocBox is a mobile treatment solution designed for removing suspended solids and particle‑bound contaminants. This means the FlocBox efficiently handles drill cuttings while treating the water so it can be safely discharged. The FlocBox is primarily used by drilling companies, but it is also suitable in situations where multiple treatment stages are required and available space is limited.

4 treatment stages in one unit

The FlocBox offers four treatment stages within a single container and is equipped with the following technologies:

• Dosing system equipped with our environmentally friendly and biodegradable flocculant, chitosan.
• Mixing system to enhance and optimize the flocculation and sedimentation processes.
• Automated pH adjustment system.
• Sedimentation of particles.

he FlocBox has a volume of 24 m³ with a full walkable platform. It can treat 5–10 m³/h, and by adding a sedimentation container, the capacity can increase to 10–20 m³/h.

Add‑ons for further optimization

When you order a FlocBox from us, you have the option to include add‑ons that further optimize the treatment system. You can choose to complement it with our automated pH adjustment system, heavy‑metal filtration using our BioMedia® filter, and a flow‑proportional sampler.

Automated pH Adjustment

Our automated pH adjustment system uses carbon dioxide to automatically regulate pH levels. This helps optimize the flocculation process while ensuring compliance with the pH requirements typically set by regulatory authorities.
The system allows you to program the desired pH value in the dosing unit, which measures the incoming pH and adjusts the amount of carbon dioxide needed to achieve the correct pH for the treated water. We recommend using carbon dioxide for pH adjustment because of its precision and ease of control. It is also a safer alternative compared to strong acids, which can be corrosive and potentially hazardous for service personnel to handle.

Heavy metal filtration

Swedish Hydro Solutions’ BioMedia® filter is a uniquely developed filter material made from pyrolyzed wood, making it environmentally friendly and biodegradable. It provides a large surface area and highly efficient capacity for water treatment. It resembles activated carbon but has a different surface chemistry, giving it a superior ability to adsorb and bind the substances that need to be removed from the water. BioMedia® effectively adsorbs heavy metals such as copper, lead, and zinc, as well as organic contaminants, including oil‑based and chlorinated compounds.

Flow‑proportional sampler

A flow‑proportional sampler can be installed alongside the FlocBox. The sampler is pulse‑controlled by the FlocBox pump, and based on the specified pulse settings (programmed according to your requirements), it collects water samples from the FlocBox. The samples are combined into a composite sample and stored in a refrigerated sampling cabinet.
