Swedish Hydro Solutions partners with NorthTec in Italy

Swedish Hydro Solutions and NorthTec have entered into a partnership that enables NorthTec to utilize Swedish Hydro’s technologies in the Italian market. Through the cooperation, NorthTec is now able to deliver Swedish Hydro Solutions' patented dosing system HydroBox for water pre-treatment, together with any additional treatment equipment required. The HydroBox uses chitosan as the primary flocculation agent and is fully biodegradable.

NorthTec, founded in 2013, brings together decades of specific experience from its shareholders and team. In Italy, it acts as a partner to European industrial companies, supporting integrated water cycle operators, designers, contractors, and industries. It operates in the wastewater treatment and sludge management sector, focusing on circular economy and energy neutrality. The company’s technologies include hydrolysis, anaerobic digestion, drying, mono‑incineration, and phosphorus recovery from both sludge and ash.

In recent years, Swedish Hydro Solutions has cooperated with SciDev Ltd on their technologies FluorofIX® and RegenIX™ for PFAS treatment on the Swedish market. Through the partnership between NorthTec and Swedish Hydro Solutions, this technology is now also available to the Italian market.

FluorofIX® is an ion exchange (IX) resin treatment system that can be used either as a single-use solution or with regeneration. It removes both long- and short-chain PFAS compounds from contaminated water. The system utilizes a series of high-capacity strong-base ion exchange resins selected to best match the pollutant composition and treatment objectives.

All FluorofIX® systems are delivered with built-in compatibility for RegenIX™.

RegenIX™ is SciDev’s ion exchange resin regeneration technology and is integrated into the design of all FluorofIX® treatment systems without significant additional CAPEX costs.
